About the Ping G440 SFT Driver
The Ping G440 SFT (Straight Flight Technology) is a draw-biased driver designed to help golfers who struggle with a left-to-right ball flight. It uses a moveable 23-gram tungsten backweight positioned in the heel to promote a right-to-left shot correction of up to 20 yards. The 460cc head shares the same core architecture as the G440 Max and LST, including Ping's Carbonfly Wrap carbon crown that saves weight and lowers the center of gravity.
Ping's Free Hosel design removes weight from the hosel area and redistributes it lower in the head, creating what Ping says is their deepest center of gravity in a driver to date. This results in higher launch, better ball speed retention on off-center hits, and a noticeably improved sound at impact compared to previous generations. The 8-position hosel offers 1.5 degrees of loft adjustment and up to 3 degrees of lie flattening.
The G440 SFT earned a Gold Medal on the 2025 Golf Digest Hot List and carries a 5-out-of-5 customer rating on Ping's website. It pairs well with the stock Alta CB Blue 50 counter-balanced shaft at 46 inches, which is a quarter-inch longer than the G430 SFT. A High Launch build with the lighter Alta Quick shaft is also available for slower swing speeds.
