Miura CB-301 Black QPQ Iron Set

The Miura CB-301 Black QPQ is the longest-hitting forged cavity-back iron Miura has produced, designed to add distance without abandoning the feel and aesthetics that define the brand. Hand-forged from premium S25C soft carbon steel in Miura's Himeji, Japan facility, each head goes through Miura's 14-step manufacturing process. The Black QPQ finish adds a dark, low-glare look to the clubhead and provides wear resistance, though the finish will develop a patina on the face and sole over time — something Miura considers a feature, not a flaw.

The CB-301 uses stronger lofts than typical Miura irons, with a 32-degree 7-iron and a 44-degree pitching wedge. That loft structure is closer to what you'd see from a distance iron, but the head shape stays compact and traditional. Variable sole and cavity thickness across the set optimizes the center of gravity for each club, giving the long irons more launch assistance while keeping the scoring clubs workable. Miura claims this produces the largest sweet spot and impact area in their iron history.

Performance testing has shown the CB-301 runs about one mph faster in ball speed and roughly six yards longer than comparable players irons. Pure strikes feel excellent — soft and responsive, as you'd expect from S25C steel. Off-center hits are less forgiving than the specs suggest, though, with a noticeable firmness on mishits. The CB-301 is built for the player who wants to recover some distance in a forged iron without moving to a bulky game-improvement head.
