About the Miura Forged Raw Wedge
The Miura Forged Raw wedge is built using the same meticulous forging process that has made Miura one of the most respected names in Japanese clubmaking. Each head goes through a 14-step manufacturing process using S20C soft carbon steel, a fine-grain material that delivers the kind of impact feel that mass-produced wedges simply cannot replicate. The raw finish means there is no plating or coating on the head, which allows the grooves to grip the ball more aggressively and provides a purer sensation at impact.
Miura offers the Forged Raw wedge in two sole grinds. The Y Grind has a softer leading edge and works best for players with neutral to steep attack angles, producing more control and spin on shots around the green. The C Grind is the more versatile option, with heel and toe relief that suits players who tend to sweep or pick the ball off the turf. Both grinds are available in lofts from 46 to 60 degrees, covering everything from gap wedge through lob wedge.
The raw finish will develop rust and patina over time, which many players actually prefer — it reduces glare, adds character, and the oxidation does not affect structural integrity or performance. In testing, the deep and aggressive grooves generate exceptional spin, with the ability to stop the ball quickly even from rough lies. At a D6 swing weight with a slightly shorter 34.75-inch length, these wedges are built to be workable and precise rather than easy to swing.
